Mission/Vision

Mission: To build a wide and diverse community network of resources within Stone County to assist with the development of opportunities for its residents with developmental disabilities.

Vision: Through community network connections, residents of Stone County with developmental disabilities have opportunities to experience growth and achievement in the areas of education, employment, recreation, housing, transportation and spirituality, thereby becoming successful active members of their communities.

We would like to invite you, your family and friends to attend our next CHANCES meeting scheduled the 3rd Thursday of every month. If you have no other means of transportation and would like to attend our monthly meetings, please contact Cherie at (417) 739-4853 to leave a message for one of our neighborhood volunteers.

One of CHANCES’ first tasks is to determine the needs of families living in Stone County who have a family member with a developmental disability. Please fill out the NEEDS ASSESSMENT FORM and either mail it back in the addressed envelope or if you prefer complete it on-line and return it to Toyea at toyea@ymail.com.  Once needs are identified, planning begins.  Please join CHANCES. Become an active member alongside other families who want to make a difference for their family, as well as other families living in Stone County.  If you are unable to attend the monthly meeting due to work or other circumstances, you can still participate. There will be many opportunities to do so.
